Kathryn Rae
Senior Manager, Innovation and Digital, ABCS

Kathryn is senior manager for marketing and consulting and a key architect of HR Advance.

Combining a big picture focus with an eye for the small details, Kathryn has been working with a broad range of businesses from start-ups to enterprises of all sizes for more than 20 years. She’s passionate about the synergy between innovation, solution design and marketing.
Martin North
Product Development Manager

Martin is product development manager, responsible for the technical development of HR Advance.

With more than 15 years’ experience in information technology, software development and design, and product management, Martin’s expertise is in troubleshooting technical problems, programming, providing design solutions, and in backlog wrangling, UX championing, and prototyping.
Joe Murphy
Director, Workplace Relations

Joe Murphy has specialised in employment and industrial matters for both private and public sector clients since 2001. He provides clients with strategic advice on discrimination, unfair dismissal, bullying, general protections (including adverse action), harassment and contractual issues.

With more than 15 years’ experience in litigation, Joe has represented clients in a range of tribunals and courts, including Fair Work Australia, the NSW Industrial Relations Commission, the Australian Human Rights Commission, the Administrative Decisions Tribunal of NSW, the Supreme Court of NSW & Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and Federal Magistrate’s Court.
Fiona Corbett
National Manager, Workplace Advice Unit

Fiona Corbett worked as an Industrial Relations Advisor with the Federal Government prior to joining the NSW Business Chamber in 2007. She has managed the Workplace Advice Unit since June 2010.

National manager for the Workplace Advice Line, Fiona and her team look after more than 20,000 cases each year, advising on a variety of workplace issues for businesses of all sizes. 

Fiona combines significant business experience from owning and operating a successful family business for over 20 years, with a number of years HR management experience gained in Sydney law firms.

Fiona has a long standing interest in industrial relations and enjoys the challenge of working with a diverse range of businesses to find solutions to their employment issues. Her broad range of experience and tertiary study in Human Resource Management ensure members receive advice tailored to suit their business needs.
Larry Forsyth
Senior Manager WHS & HR Consulting Services, Australian Business Consulting & Solutions

Larry has more than 20 years’ experience in helping businesses optimise their HR practices, deliver strategic and operational outcomes and ensure good practice.

Specialising in transformational leadership, coaching and change management, he has also created a number of tailored HR consulting solutions.

Alison Williams
Managing Editor

Alison is the managing editor for HR Advance. Her role is to bring you relevant and interesting information — whether through daily published articles, analytical commentary or by developing new features to make the site more interesting and accessible.

She has over 25 years' experience in the areas of human resources, industrial relations and employment law, undertaking a mix of hands-on and publishing roles, with the last 10 years spent publishing content for HR Advance, WorkplaceInfo and WorkplaceOHS. 

She has a Masters Degree in Employment Relations from the University of Western Sydney.
Glen Pleffer
Senior Project Manager

In a career spanning nearly 20 years, he was worked across a diverse range of industries, from publishing and education to marketing and manufacturing.

His results-driven focus and desire to learn new skills has seen him work in a variety of roles, including account and project management, digital production, marketing, copywriting and graphic design.

Project Manager

Paavan has had more than 10 years’ worth of experience as a product developer and project manager.

He is passionate about timely delivering quality projects and he brings in the technical expertise into the product planning and execution of HR Advance.

Creative, strategic and results-driven digital marketing professional with a genuine passion for harnessing the latest technology to meet customer needs via the development, management and maintenance of innovative marketing campaigns for a diversity of industries. With over 15+ years working with large retailers like Big W, Best and Less, government departments and property training groups, Phillip structured successful, detailed strategy and execution marketing plans that focused on ROI and lead generation.
Maria Leopoulos
Digital Marketing Executive

Maria has extensive experience in marketing and advertising and has worked for multinational advertising agencies, e-commerce businesses and start-ups. She has also been involved in projects as a freelance marketing consultant for companies across different industries like retail, insurance and international trade.
She is a certified Google Partner and holds a double master’s degree in International Marketing Communications from ESCEM School of Business and Management in France and London Metropolitan University in UK. She believes the sky is the limit and she is highly driven by businesses and people who want to make a difference and embrace cultural diversity in their practices.
Sacha Henry
Events Marketing

Sacha started her career at a small to medium-sized business, understanding the need for multi-tasking and wearing a variety of hats. She has since worked in a variety of industries, including tourism, events and finance, in both marketing and events based roles.

Sacha enjoys simplifying processes and delivering effective communications that provide clarity and achieve results. With extensive experience in events marketing, Sacha is passionate about getting involved and getting stuff done.
Jasmine Lopez
Digital Marketing Specialist

Jasmine’s role is to design, create, and deliver marketing programs to support expansion and growth of the company services and products.

She has in-depth knowledge of ABCS Online Products and market goals. She is proficient in graphics, web advertising, social media and Google products and familiar with a wide range of field practices, concepts, and procedures.
Lia Paddy
Business Manager, HR Advance Professional

With a scientific background, Lia started her career in recruitment for the Australian tech sector. She worked as a LinkedIn sales trainer for multiple recruitment businesses, training consultants and business owners on how to use LinkedIn and other disruptive technologies to build their brand, reach new audiences and build relationships with potential clients.

Lia has a passion for helping her clients further develop their sales and marketing and her role at HR Advance is to build strong relationships with a national network of HR Consultancies.
Gerardo Claravall
Business Solutions Executive

Gerardo has over 10 years’ sales experience and has worked in the FMCG, IT, Engineering, and Events industries. He is passionate about building relationships with clients and understanding their needs along with achieving his sales targets.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business management & marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
